A woman in Texas found a 12-foot python in her bathroom shortly after bathing her pet guinea pigs, KENS 5 News reported.
The incident, first reported on Tuesday by The Eagle, occurred earlier this month at the home of 50-year-old Veronica Rodriguez.
"It was a huge scare," Rodriguez told the newspaper.
Police believe the snake made it's way into her home after leaving her back door open as she put her pets in their outside cages.
Kelsie Fowler, Rodriguez's daughter, was on the phone with her mother when she complained of hearing strange noises in the background of their call. Rodriguez decided to search around the house -- eventually ending up in the bathroom.
"As soon as I turned on the light, that's when I saw it," Rodriguez said. "It was crawling into my tub."
She immediately slammed the door and called 911.
College Station Police and animal control officers successfully removed the snake from her home and used a trash can as a temporary trap for the python, KENS 5 said.
"When the officer showed up, he came with a brown paper sack," she said. "I told him, 'you're going to need a bigger sack than that.'"
College Station Officer Tony Gonzalez said he dealt with animal issues before, but never anything like this.
"When I opened her bathroom door, there was a 12-foot python," Gonzales said. "I didn't know what I was going to do with a snake that large."
Rodriguez and her pets remained unharmed during the frightening incident.
