Former President Bill Clinton appears in a new TV ad for former U.S. Rep. Marjorie Margolies, who is running for her old seat to represent Pennsylvania's 13th Congressional District, POLITICO reported.
"If you send Marjorie to Congress, she'll make you proud, she'll vote right," Clinton says in the ad. "I'm not coming here saying, 'Vote for her because 20 years ago she saved the economy.' She'll take initiative, she'll do things, she'll stand up when she needs to stand up and cooperate when we need cooperation."
Margolies' son, Marc Mezvinsky, is married to the ex-president's daughter, Chelsea Clinton.
Additionally, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be assisting Margolies' run as well. On Thursday, she is holding a fundraiser in New York City for the campaign.
"I think America will be a better place, and this district will be well-served, if you elect her," Bill Clinton says in the end of the spot.
Margolies is facing off with physician Val Arkoosh, state Sen. Daylin Leach, and state Rep. Brendan Boyle for the Democratic nomination. The nominee will run to replace the seat left by U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz, who is running for governor.
The final PA-13 debate will be held at Upper Moreland High School on Wednesday.
The ad was produced by Joe Slade White & Company, according to the Margolies campaign.
