Lisa Ling has accomplished so much in her life, but nothing could compare to the joy of the arrival of her baby girl, Jett.
Ling, 39, has suffered multiple miscarriages from 2010 through 2012. It wasn't until she and her husband of 6 years were not attempting to have a baby that they announced last fall that Ling was pregnant with her first child.
"My travel schedule is erratic, and I only saw Paul once a month, so it was a shock," Ling told US Weekly. "We had considered adoption, but we got very lucky. We believe this is the child we were supposed to have."
The former "View" co-host gave birth to Jett via C-Section as the umbilical cord was wrapped around the child's neck on March 8.
"It was probably the most triumphant moment in our marriage," she said. "It was like, 'We made that screaming beast and we're responsible for her for the rest of our lives!' It was an incredible bonding moment."
Ling said that when she left the hospital the world looked much different to her.
"I've always been into my work and wanted to do work that I could be proud of," she said. "Now, I want to do work that she can be proud of."
The name Jett is rather interesting. Ling explains that she and her husband are fans of Jet Li.
"It also reminds me of Joan Jett and badass women rockers," she said.
Ling is currently the host of "Our American With Lisa Ling" on the OWN Network. Ling will return for a fifth season after she takes a break to be with her new baby.
