With the "Dark Night" series finally wrapped up, could director Christopher Nolan be trading the Batmobile for the Ashton Martin?
The Daily Mail reports that Nolan has been approached to direct the 24th Bond film and that talks have begun between Nolan, his representatives and Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, the powers behind the James Bond film franchise.
The director is also known to be an admirer of Daniel Craig.
However, no one is 100 percent sure if Nolan will be joining the new film. As of now, the famed director is currently in pre-production for his next film "Interstellar" which will star Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain. The report indicates that Nolan may not want to go straight from one huge production into another.
The latest Bond film "Skyfall" was released last fall and was meet with rave reviews and incredible success at the box office. The film has grossed over one billion dollars worldwide making it the second highest grossing film of 2012, even beating out Nolan's "The Dark Night Rises."
The BAFTA and Academy award winning film also became the highest-grossing film in the UK and the seventh-highest grossing film of all time.
The film went the Academy Award for Best Sound Editing and Adele took home the statue for Best Original Song.
Sam Mendes, who directed the recent film, almost said yes to go another round but had to decline due to other commitments.
Nolan is known for his work in the Batman trilogy and the suspenseful thriller "Inception." His next project includes "Man of Steel" which tells the story of Clark Kent's transformation into Superman.
