'Star Wars Episode 7' Star Oscar Isaac Reveals It Was Tough To Keep His Casting Secret For A Month

"Star Wars Episode 7" actor Oscar Isaac revealed how difficult it was to keep his casting news a secret to Digital Spy.

Isaac, whose character name has yet to be announced, was excited to receive the news, as he has always been a fan of the "Star Wars" franchise.

"There was about a month where I already knew that I'd been cast, before the announcement, so it was tough to keep it under wraps," Isaac told Digital Spy. "But you know, secrets can be fun.

"I was a huge Star Wars fan growing up - my family collects the toys, and we had Star Wars parties where everyone would dress up as their favorite character," he added. "I came as a Gonk droid, but that was less about imagination and more about laziness, like, 'Damnit, I forgot to get a costume, just give me a cardboard box and I'll paint it grey!'"

Isaac joins franchise newcomers John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis and Max von Sydow, along with original stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker.

Gleeson has also spoken out about his new role to Dublin radio show 2FM, refusing to dish details about "Star Wars Episode 7."

"I'm still struggling to come to terms with it," Gleeson told the radio show. "It all happened really quickly for me. It was like the day before and then I'm at a table reading with Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill. It was madness but it was great."

"I'm afraid if I say anything I'll give away the plot of the whole movie," he said. "I've got two years of this ahead of me. The movie is released in December 2015 -- that's the amount of time I have to keep my mouth shut!"

Isaac isn't revealing any spoilers either. Check out his interview with Total Film below to see his reaction to the "Star Wars Episode 7" questions.

"Star Wars Episode 7" will be released to theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
