Pharmacy Robbery Suspect Fatally Shot By NYC Police

A pharmacy robbery suspect was fatally shot by police in New York City on Friday, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Authorities were called around 1:40 p.m. about a burglary taking place at a HealthSource Pharmacy on Second Avenue near East 69th Street.

Police officers caught up with the suspect, who was driving a four-door sedan, near FDR Drive. According to officers, the suspect flashed his gun -- prompting officers to open fire.

Though investigators said they recovered two guns from the scene, it is unclear if the suspect fired any shots.

More than one officer opened fire at the suspect, The Journal said. Officials are still trying to figure out how many shots were fired in total.

The identity of the suspect has not been released.

Four officers were transported to New York-Weill Cornell Hospital and listed in stable condition. The group of officers was treated for ringing in their ears, The AP said.
