Massachusetts Man, Andrea Massa, Arrested For Bringing Guns To Boston University Graduation

A Massachusetts man was arrested on Sunday after showing up to the Boston University commencement with two loaded handguns, according to ABC News.

Andrea Massa, 28, was taken into custody by university police after officers performed a bag check.

However, Massa's wife, Sally Jenkins, told The Boston Herald he realized he wouldn't be allowed in and was on his way out when officers checked his bag. The two attended the ceremony to see Jenkins' sister graduate.

No one was injured in the incident.

According to investigators, Massa has a license to carry firearms for hunting and target practice. Following Sunday's incident, he faces a civil penalty for violating the terms of his license, the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office said.

On Monday, he is scheduled for arraignment in Brighton Court on charges of unlawfully carrying a firearm onto school grounds and disorderly conduct.

The commencement speaker at the graduation ceremony was Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick. Additionally, comedian Bill Cosby was in attendance to receive an honorary degree.
