Ubisoft has more than a third of its gaming studios work on the upcoming "Assassin' Creed: Unity" title.
A total of 10 studios work on "Unity," which is three more than "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag." The title has no set release date, but will be an PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 exclusive.
"Studios working on Assassin's Creed Unity include Ubisoft teams in Montreal, Toronto, Singapore, Quebec, Annecy, Shanghai, Chengdu, Kiev, Montpellier, and Bucharest," Gamespot reports. "Ubisoft has a total of 29 studios worldwide, meaning Assassin's Creed Unity is being worked on by around a third of Ubisoft's studios."'
"Assassin's Creed: Unity" is rumored to have an October 2014 launch date. According to The Huffington Post U.K., Ubisoft has shown a pattern for their "Assassin's Creed" release dates and have given their "best guess" for the next-gen exclusive title.
"Since AC4 was released on October 29, 2013, and Ubisoft will likely be targeting a similar date, we'd suggest October 28, 2014 (which is also a Tuesday) as a likely candidate," according to HuffPost.
There is a second title rumored for a 2014 release as well called "Assassin's Creed: Comet," which is allegedly a direct sequel to "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag." However, Ubisoft has yet to confirm a second title's release.
"GameBlog's report claims that Comet will take place in and around 1758; that it will star a sailor named Shay who betrays the captain of his ship; and that it's set on the Atlantic Ocean," according to Kotaku.
"We haven't been able to confirm all of those plot details, and some of it appears to be speculation by GameBlog," the gaming site continued, "but people familiar with Comet tell us that this fall's last-gen Assassin's Creed will indeed be set in North America and star a protagonist named Shay, who is a member of the Templars, the assassin-hating order that has traditionally served as primary antagonist in the Assassin's Creed games."
