Xbox One's system has received a software update that is now available for download.
The changes include a new sound mixer for snapped apps, the option to help Microsoft improve its search-recognition service, and a change that highlights the System Update button when updates are available, according to PC Magazine. The update was initially released to early access program users.
The news was announced on Saturday in a tweet from Larry Hryb, director of programming for Xbox Live. Hryb said new audio options, as well as other new options, will now be available in the console with the update.
"Remember: The 'System Update' button will appear (under Settings>System) if there [is] a new update available for you," he wrote.
Users don't have to check for updates anymore. They will download automatically with "no action required," PC Magazine reported.
"But if you want to get to be sure you have the latest System Update and get it RIGHT NOW you can check [with] the button," Hryb added.
A fix for Part Chat is also available, thanks to the update, Xbox Achievements reported. Party Chat will be silent unless the Party App was snapped.
The voice command responsiveness of Kinect is also a target for the update, with the addition of an opt-in speech data collection program. The program can be turned on in Xbox One's Privacy & Online Safety Menu.
Microsoft added the collection in order to observe voice and speech data to help improve future versions of Xbox One and its software, PC Magazine reported. The company said that all collected information would only be used for product improvement.
"Being able to control your Xbox One with voice commands can be a magical moment and we want to continue making this great for all Xbox One owners worldwide," Hryb wrote. "The more voice samples we have to input our algorithms, the better and more responsive Xbox One can be to our fans."
