John Kerry Takes Jab At Donald Sterling In Yale Commencement Address

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry took a jab at Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling during his speech at Yale University's commencement ceremony, according to The Huffington Post.

In a recorded conversation that was somehow picked up by TMZ, a man believed to be Sterling is heard making racist comments about several professional basketball players to V. Stiviano.

"You are graduating today as the most diverse class in Yale's long history," Kerry said to the audience on Sunday. "Or as they call it in the NBA, Donald Sterling's worst nightmare."

According to one of the speakers, students from 61 countries graduated from Yale this year.

Since the audio surfaced, Sterling has been banned by the National Basketball Association (NBA) and made multiple statements denying any wrongdoing.

Aside from his jokes, Kerry -- a 1966 graduate of the Ivy League school -- also hit a number of other points in his speech at their 313th graduation ceremony.

"None of our problems are without solutions, but neither will they solve themselves," he said. "It's a matter of willpower, not capacity. It requires keeping faith with the ability of institutions to do big things when demanded."

Following the ceremony, he posted a thank you note on Twitter.

"Thanks, #Yale2014. A privilege to be your Class Day speaker. Best of luck in all you do - onwards!" he tweeted.

On Monday, the former Massachusetts senator spoke and received an honorary degree at Boston College's graduation, where he previously received his law degree.
