Attention all Instagram users, @badgalriri is not Rihanna.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the singer, who no longer uses the social media service, has called out an imposter who is currently posing as her. The 26-year-old captioned a photo of the phony account, which currently has over 250 followers, letting Instagram users know that the account is a phony.
"#PHAKE !!!! Let's be clear, I do NOT have an IG account!" Rihanna wrote.
Last month, Rihanna's account was called into question after the singer posted some racy pictures of herself on the site, which reportedly violated Instagram's rules against nudity. Her Instagram page was later rendered inactive, which led some to believe she was punished for sharing the pictures.
The company said later, "The account was mistakenly caught in one of our automated systems and very briefly disabled. We apologize for any inconvenience."
The "Pour It Up" singer did receive criticism for sharing several snapshots from her topless shoot for Lui magazine. She responded by posting a photo of herself dressed in conservative attire, which she captioned, "Rih's next magazine cover if it was up to Instagram."
The singer has encountered several negative incidents involving social media, including being accused of cyber-bullying a 16-year-old girl from Baltimore who dressed like Rihanna for her Hollywood-themed prom. High school student Alexis Carter tried to recreate the Alexandre Vauthier jumpsuit Rihanna wore to the 2010 Echo Awards in Berlin.
But after posting some pictures online, Carter said she quickly received harsh remarks, including two from Rihanna comparing Carter's outfit to the Wu Tang Clan's bat-like logo.
