If you happened to buy a Powerball lottery ticket in a suburb of Tampa, Florida, than you have a high chance of being the lucky winner of a record-breaking$590.5 million.
A single ticket matching all the numbers in Saturday's $590.5 million Powerball drawing was sold at a Publix supermarket in Zephyrhills, Fla., lottery officials said Sunday. The jackpot has a cash value of $376.9 million or the winner can chose to have it take it as annuity over several years. (How do lottery payouts work)
"This would be the sixth Florida Powerball winner and right now, it's the sole winner of the largest ever Powerball jackpot. We're delighted right now that we have the sole winner," Florida Lottery executive Cindy O'Connell told USA Today.
The winning numbers for the largest multistate Powerball jackpot: 22, 10,13,14, 52 and the Powerball number is 11.
While there was only one prize winning ticket sold, 31 tickets matched all five numbers, earning those lucky ticket holders a prize of $1 million each. Two tickets sold in New York and South Carolina were Power Play winners worth $2 million each.
Earlier estimates had put the jackpot at $600 million, however the Powerball website reflected at adjusted total of $590.5 million, which is still the largest jackpot in the game's history. It surpasses a $587.6 million jackpot which was split by winners in Arizona and Missouri in November.
