GameStop will throw 3,500 midnight launch parties on Tuesday to celebrate the release of "Watch Dogs."
The company's senior vice president of merchandising said many interactive entertainment enthusiasts anxiously await the game.
"We are seeing tremendous excitement from gaming fans for the new Watch Dogs game," Bob Puzon said in a company press release. "In fact, Watch Dogs is proving to be the highest pre-ordered, next-generation console game we've experienced to date. We are planning some exciting activities at our stores to help our fans celebrate the arrival of the Ubisoft game."
The senior vice president of sales and marketing at game developer Ubisoft said the events give "Watch Dog" addicts initial chances to try the hot item.
"We know gamers are eagerly anticipating the launch of Watch Dogs and it's encouraging to see a partner like GameStop celebrate the launch with a first-to-play opportunity," Tony Key said.
Consumers trading in equipment or games at any of the parties on Tuesday can buy a new PlayStation 4 game console, "Watch Dogs" PlayStation 4 game, and save $10 on a year's PlayStation Plus subscription, according to a press release.
Other trade-in deals include $10 off new $54.99 Sony PlayStation 3 controllers. Consumers also save $25 when purchasing "Watch Dogs" with a pre-owned smartphone.
Gamers get a 40 percent credit from any game or accessory when they pre-order or purchase the game.
PS4 or PS3 enthusiasts who pre-order the game get 60 minutes more of exclusive content
Key said the influx of people pre-ordering "Watch Dogs" shows a strong interest in the visual technology.
"These strong pre-orders are a clear indication of players' anticipation and excitement for Watch Dogs," Key said on Ubisoft's blog. "The teams have worked tirelessly to ensure that players will enjoy a top quality game with enormous scope, and we can't wait to get the game into their hands."
