Seven months after being photographed kissing "Smash" director Michael Morris, actress Katharine McPhee has filed for divorce from her husband of six years, according to People Magazine.
"After six years of marriage, and having been separated for the past year, Katharine McPhee has filed for a dissolution of marriage from Nick Cokas," a representative for the actress said in a statement Thursday. "The two have an amicable relationship and will remain friends. They ask that people respect their privacy during this time."
The couple married in Beverly Hills in February 2008 after dating for three years, but have no children together. Last October, the 30-year-old actress was photographed grabbing lunch at I Panini Di Ambra in Hollywood and kissing Morris, who's married to "In Plain Sight" actress Mary McCormack. They are parents to nine-year-old Margaret, six-year-old Rose and two-year-old Lillian.
Several publications reported that McPhee and Cokas, a 49-year-old stage producer, had reconciled and were reportedly working on their marriage as recently as March, when they were spotted walking their dogs. McPhee and Cokas first met in 2005, when they performed in a L.A. production of "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir."
"It was just time," a source told People. "They'd grown apart and weren't right for each other anymore."
In an interview with Stuff Magazine, McPhee said "When I turned 21, I thought it was a good age to explore. You're no longer a teenager, so it's OK [to date older guys]. I gravitated toward them, and I love them. They're just wiser, and they're less about themselves and more about you."
McPhee is scheduled to appear in an upcoming CBS drama, "Scorpion."
