Chennai (8-5) sits second in the Premier League standings, two games behind Punjab after losing three straight. Their latest defeat came in Thursday's six-wicket loss against Hyderabad. Skipper MS Dhoni led the team with 57 runs, and David Hussey and Dwayne Smith added 50 runs and 47 runs, respectively. On the bowling front, the team managed to take only three wickets.
Bangalore, meanwhile, is three games removed from last place with a 5-8 record. They head into Saturday's contest looking to snap a two-game losing streak after a 30-run loss on Wednesday to Kolkata. Yogesh Takawale scored a team-high 45 runs, skipper Virat Kohli chipped in with 38 runs and bowlers took only three wickets against Kolkata.
Despite the loss, Takawale continues to steadily improve.
