Samsung is secretive about the launch of its rumored Galaxy Note 4 but the latest word is that the company will launch the new Note September 4.
Samsung, the world's biggest smartphone maker, is rumored to be releasing its unannounced Galaxy Note 4 at a Sept. 4, 2014 event. The news of the release date, reported by Android Geeks, was tipped by a reliable source who accurately predicted the launch of Note 3 last year, months before its release. The report also added that the Korean tech giant will send out invites as late as mid-August.
While the folks at Android Geeks are hopeful about the release date, the September launch plays the math correctly. Last year, Samsung released its Galaxy Note 3 in early September, just ahead of its IFA show. As for this year, the company is planning to host the event starting Sept. 5, 2014, so getting its newest successor to the Note series before the event seems prominent.
If the Note 4 release date has got Samsung fans on the edge, here are some rumored specs that can be expected in the new Note phablet.
A separate report from Sam Mobile, which predicts the possible new features in the Note 4, claims that Samsung will integrate features like 'Swipe to launch Motion Launcher', 'Aqua Capture', 'Multi Network for Booster', and 'Smart Fingerprint' in the upcoming phablet.
Swipe to launch Motion Launcher is said to be a new feature under testing and is similar to the Motion Launch in the HTC One (M8). In HTC, the motion feature allows users to directly launch camera, wake up devices and perform other tasks with different swipe gestures. Another feature, Smart Fingerprint is reportedly the advanced version of the fingerprint scanner as seen in the Galaxy S5.
Aqua Capture, much like the Aqua Mode in the Galaxy S4 Active, will allow users to snap images underwater. This means the Note 4 will come with better water-resistance than the Galaxy S5. Finally, Multi Network for Booster will function like the Download Booster on Galaxy S5, which boosts the download speed by combining Wi-Fi and mobile data.
As for the phablet's technical specifications, Android Geeks report says that the Note 4 will carry a 5.7-inch Quad HD screen with a screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, in short a 2K display. Under the hood, the new Note will be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor and a 3GB RAM. The camera is expected to be similar to the S5 with a 16-megapixel ISOCELL sensor, but with an upgraded Optical Image Stabilization.
Android Geeks also predicts the Note 4 might come with a 5.9-inch display considering Samsung has increased the screen size of its Note phablets by 0.2 inches each time.
Official word on the specs are still awaited, till then we make do with speculations.
