Wiz Khalifa Arrested: 'Black and Yellow' Rapper Charged With Marijuana Possession in Texas (TWEETS)

Rapper Wiz Khalifa was arrested in West Texas on Sunday for marijuana possession.

Us Weekly reported that the rapper, whose real name is Cameron Thomaz, was stopped while walking through an airport security inspection checkpoint at the El Paso International Airport. Authorities reportedly found a "green leafy substance" during a Transportation Security Administration check, which was later confirmed to be 0.5 grams of weed.

Khalifa, who was not travelling with identification, was turned over to local police and arrested. The 26-year-old rapper was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and was later released after posting $300 bail.

"The TSA officer learned that Thomaz did not have any identification which led to him being sent for secondary screening," El Paso Chief of Police Gregory K. Allen said in a statement, according to the Associated Press. "During that screening the TSA Officer located a metal container inside of the backpack which contained a prohibited item."

He posted a photo of his cell door with the phrase "Free Trap Wiz." While sitting in a holding cell the "Black and Yellow" rapper posted a picture of himself on Twitter with the caption, "Jail Selfie."

"They're tryna figure out how many grams I had," he wrote Sunday. "How ironic."

He later added: "I wanna drop 28 Grams but they got me locced up. Soon as I get out, the tapes comin out. F-cc that."

In April 2012, he received a citation for misdemeanor marijuana possession in Nashville, Tenn. Khalifa has been open about his marijuana use, even naming his 2010 tour the Waken Baken Tour.

"I thought weed was bad for a minute," Khalifa told MTV during an interview. "When I was younger, I thought it was bad, but I got to a point where it worked for me. It don't work for everybody else. People gotta stay free, people need jobs, people got parents that probably wouldn't be with it, so don't ruin your life trying to be like me. That's my advice."
