Miami responded after dropping the series opener by winning the next two games, including Saturday's Game 2. Heat stars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade again powered the Heat, combining for 49 points, and Heat guard Ray Allen added 16 point in the 99-87 win.
More impressive, the Heat overcame an early 37-22 deficit to notch their second straight win in the series.
"A lot of our situations that we've been through where we've struggled have been against this team," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra told the Associated Press. "That's what they do to you. They're very good. It's a function of their defense. But we had no choice but try to re-gather."
Indiana squandered their 15-point lead and went on to be outscored 77-50, according to the Associated Press.
"Tough loss for our guys," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. "Thought we competed pretty well, came out of the gates really strong, got off to a good start and then didn't manage our foul trouble well and didn't manage picking up their defensive intensity well."
Pacers star Paul George led the team with 17 points, center Roy Hibbert added 16 points and guard Lance Stephenson finished with 10 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Despite losing, Stephenson believes he's now gotten into the head of James, who uncharacteristically trash-talked with him.
"To me, I think it's a sign of weakness," Stephenson said. "He never used to say anything to me. I always used to be the one who said, 'I'm going to do something to get you mad.' Now he's trying to do it to me. So I feel like it's a weakness. I feel like I'm doing something right because I'm getting under his skin, but I've definitely got to keep stepping up to the plate and be more aggressive when he does that."
