Google has updated its Google Search Android app to offer a card that reminds users of their most recent car rental reservation.
Typing or saying "Where is my rental car reservation?" will bring up a card that shows booking numbers, pick-up and drop-off dates, according to Engadget.
The app can now program reminder alarms for reservations, hands-free. Earlier reminders required the user press a button to set an alarm.
The card also includes the name of the company, the type of car that was reserved and other information, Android Community reported.
Google introduced Google Now cards in August last year. These cards provided new tools for people interested in traveling, including a card that gave the user suggestions and details about car rental services that were closeby. The new feature adds to the previous app by helping users remember where the car was rented from and when it was rented.
The feature may only be able to get information if the car rental service sent the user the details through their Gmail accounts, Android Community reported. The feature also only works on the Google Search mobile app.
In addition, reminders are not added automatically as Google Search or Google Now reminders. Users currently have to make straightforward requests to get the reminders.
The update may also be currently limited to the U.S., The Droid Guy reported.
The card will be accessible on all Android devices with Google Now as long as users have installed the latest version of Google Search.
Google Now received an update last week that included bill reminder cards that will notify users of upcoming bill information such as the amount due and the due date, Slash Gear reported. Users will get this information if it is sent to their Gmail accounts.
The new Google Search feature was announced on Twitter, Friday.
