AT&T will join the 4G long-term evolution network when the company releases an LG G3 smartphone sometime this year.
The mobile carrier's senior vice president said the company looks forward to the undetermined date.
"We are excited to add the LG G3 to AT&T's leading device portfolio this year," Jeff Bradley said in a company press release. "With its razor sharp 5.5 inch Quad HD display to its laser auto camera focus, the LG G3 is an innovative smartphone for consumers looking for the latest technologies all running on the network that covers more than 99 percent of all Americans."
The LG G3 also has a 2.5 gigahertz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, according to IGN. Consumers can choose between two or three gigabytes of RAM and 16 or 32 gigabytes of storage when a microSD card is used.
An interchangeable back case is new to the device. This enables users to switch out its 3,000 mAh battery. A new handset projects sound clearly via a one watt speaker and boost amp.
The smartphone's 13-megapixel camera features advanced optical image stabilization to center photos and a laser auto focus to accurately position pictures, IGN reported. A dual light-emitting diode flash also brightens up images.
The smartphone is Android's main mobile device, and the technology's latest model since the company launched a G2 Android 2.26 gigahertz quad-core Qualcomm Krait processor in 2013.
New technology launches have kept AT&T busy. The company unveiled high definition voiceover service in Rockford, Chicago, and Kankakee-Bradley, Ill., Friday.
The company also implemented the free voiceover service in other parts of Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Wisconsin on a select and limited basis, according to Next Generation News.
Using a high definition handset that connects a cellular base station at the bottom of a cell tower, HD signals are transmitted to consumers' phones.
