One Direction's Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik Smoke Weed: Spark Controversies

A video published by Daily Mail showing "One Direction" band members Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik smoking weed and joking about it has shocked many of their fans.

"One Direction" band members Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik found themselves in hot water when Daily Mail published a video showing the two smoking a "joint" and joking about marijuana use.

The video didn't go down too well with many "One Direction" fans, who were seen ripping up, burning or selling their tickets for the upcoming gigs in the U.K., Europe and America, Daily Mail reported.

A few fans also took to twitter to demand an apology from the two band members. According to many of them, filming such activities may have dire consequences, considering the band members are role models with a young fan base.

"Don't care about them doin weed, its up to them what they do in their time. But this will ruin the bands reputation you can't deny that," one fan wrote.

There were some loyal One Directioners who said that the media and other fans were blowing things out of proportion. They assured the band that they still loved them and will continue offering their support. The video is believed to have been recorded in April when the band was in Peru.

The video shows a joyful Tomlinson saying "So here we are, leaving Peru. Joint lit. Happy days!" After a while, the singer is heard saying, "One very, very important factor to Zayn's warm up, of course is Mary Jane herself. In fact I'm presenting it to him now for some fantastic singing". When the car the two band members are travelling in passes a police vehicle, a voice says, "He is having a look, he is thinking 'I'm sure I can smell an illegal substance in there' and he has hit the nail on the head."

The band's three other members do not appear in the video and were probably not in the car that Tomlinson and Malik were travelling in when the video was recorded.

A spokesperson for that band has said that "the matter is now in the hands of our lawyers", according to News.com.au.
