Two German football World Cup players, Julian Draxler and Benedikt Howedes, along with F1 Star Nico Rosberg and DTM driver Pascal Wehrlein were involved in a car accident while shooting an ad, which left two people injured.
An unfortunate incident occurred during a Mercedes ad film shoot at Germany's World Cup training base, Tuesday, where DTM driver Pascal Wehrlein accidently hit two people while driving on a closed course. During the accident, Formula One driver Nico Rosberg was driving another car and both professional drivers were carrying two German World Cup players, Benedikt Hoewedes and Julian Draxler, in separate vehicles.
Wehrlein's car collided with two people on the closed course in northern Italy's South Tyrol region, Daily Mail reports. Both the racing drivers and footballers were not injured during the accident. Rosberg expressed his regrets about the two injured and wished them a speedy recovery on Twitter.

Mercedes-Benz Motorsport also issued a statement on Facebook summing up the accident. "An accident occurred during a visit to the training camp of the German National Football Team: while driving on a closed circuit, DTM driver Pascal Wehrlein injured two people whom he unexpectedly encountered walking on the closed course. We cannot offer any statement concerning the severity of injuries, as both injured parties are currently undergoing medical treatment. Pascal Wehrlein was uninjured in the accident. We deeply regret this accident and send wishes of quick recovery to the injured."
According to BBC, one of the accident victims was a 63-year old German tourist who was seriously injured and the other man was identified as a circuit marshal. Both individuals are being treated in the hospital and are not in a life-threatening condition.
The car racing team also said they will closely work with the authorities to find the exact cause of the accident.
German coach Joachim Loew cancelled the planned training session for the team for their under-20 selection, but players including Hoewedes and Draxler continued practice in a private training session, Independent News reported.
