Police arrested NFL receiver Chad Johnson on Monday in Broward County, Florida. The arrest comes a week after the Broward County Sheriff's Office issued an open warrant for the free agent for violating his probation.
Johnson, 35, turned himself into authorities and appeared in court. The judge determined him to be in violation of his probation and subsequently ordered him to be arrested and jailed. Bail will be set later in the day, according to TMZ.
The arrest warrant was issued for Johnson last week after he failed twice to report to his probation officer and failed to show proof of enrollment in a domestic violence education class. Police were initially unable to find Johnson until he surrendered himself on Monday.
TMZ obtained a picture of Johnson's arrest Monday afternoon.
A Florida judge sentenced Johnson last year to probation after the receiver pleaded no contest to a domestic violence charge involving his ex-wife, Evelyn Lozada. She accused him of head-butting her during an argument in August, one month after they married.
This latest arrest won't help Ochocinco find a job. He's been a free agent since the Miami Dolphins cut last year for his domestic violence incident Johnson last played in 2011 for the New England Patriots, where he recorded a career-low 15 receptions for 276 yards.
