Dots creators Betaworks are building on the success of their last year's hit with the launch of TwoDots, offering more challenges in the minimalistic dot connecting game.
All your leisure time, lunch breaks and bed times are going to get shorter as the sequel to the highly addictive puzzle game, Dots, has arrived on the Apple App Store. TwoDots, the successor to the popular award winning Dots game, has made its appearance after six months of hard work at Betaworks. The compelling little colored dots on the mobile screen that required users to connect them with small lines was a sensation in 2013 and its successor is here to keep us all busy this year.
Dots, which was launched last year, was the recipient of the Webby Award. The game was downloaded more than 20 million times, providing clear evidence of its popularity. Dots also made history recently by becoming the first Western titled game to launch in China exclusively. According to statistics revealed in a press release, Thursday, the original Dots game is played more than 500 million times each month.
TwoDots, which was launched Thursday on Apple App Store, hopes to achieve similar success. It includes two thematic characters named Amelia and Jacques. The aim of the game is to successfully navigate the two characters through 85 levels. Challenges and difficulty increases with each level. The new game also comes with many additional features, which makes it even more engaging than its predecessor. The game is currently available only to Apple users and an Android version is expected to hit the Google Play Store sometime later this year.
"Join two brave dots as they traverse arctic tundras, navigate fiery jungles, and plunge the ocean depths. Sharpen your skills across 85 challenging levels while uncovering many exciting new features along the way," Betaworks writes in the game's description inside the App Store.
