Murray needed only three sets and 114 minutes to defeat Marinko Matosevic in Thursday's second round match.
"I returned very well in the second serve," Murray said, via BBC. "I attacked it very well. My timing was there on both sides, forehand and backhand side on that shot. That was for me was the best part of my game today. ... I was just trying to make sure that my intensity was there every moment, especially at the beginning of the sets. I managed to get ahead early in all of them, and that helped."
Murray also credited his serves for helping him advance past Matosevic.
"It was a good serving performance today, especially when I was down in games," Murray said. "In the game I got broken right at the end it was not down to my serving, really. I just missed a few other shots."
Kohlschreiber, ranked No. 24 in the World, hasn't yet dropped a set en route to the third round. His latest win came in straight sets against Denis Istomin.
Murray and Kohlschreiber have met twice before. Both meetings were in 2010: Murray won at the Hopman Cup and Kohlschreiber won at Monte-Carlo.
