Chicago bounced back from an early 3-1 deficit in the series with two straight wins, forcing Sunday's Game 7. The momentum appears to have shifted to the Blackhawks after Friday's 4-3 win, thanks in part to winger Patrick Cane, who scored two goals in Game 6 - including the go-ahead goal in the third period.
"It's amazing what he can do in these big games when our season is on the line," Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews told the Associated Press. "Nobody else seems to be able to do it the same way he does. It's pretty amazing."
Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith also commended Kane for his ability to perform in the clutch.
"We get the privilege of playing with a guy like that every day and seeing what he can do," Keith said. "You know when it comes down to crunch time, him and Johnny (Toews), I don't know if there are two other guys I'd rather have on my team."
Chicago being down 3-1 in the series was just as surprising as Chicago overcoming the deficit and extending the series to seven games.
"There is a 'Wow' factor in this series, especially the last two games," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said. "We've got two competitive teams that have experience in the situation. It's been amazing. I mean, as good as it gets."
Los Angeles, meanwhile, has lost two straight and must come away with a road-win to advance. Despite the two deflating losses, the Kings remain confident they can get their fourth win.
"We know that we can still beat this Chicago Blackhawks team," Kings defenseman Drew Doughty said. "But we also know it's not going to be easier either. They're going to have their best game in this Game 7, especially in their home rink."
