Asus has proved yet again with its new Transformer Book V that integration of phone, tablet and laptop running both Windows and Android can be seamlessly simple.
Asus, one of the finest PC makers around the world, has announced a new entry to its lineup that covers all of its categories ranging from laptop to tablet and even smartphone. The Transformer Book V is a new 5-in-1 Asus smartphone, tablet and laptop that can run on two operating systems; Android and Windows. The integration of three devices, two operating systems in five modes is beautifully crafted for consumers looking for a suitable device that can do more than one function without the need to upgrade.
Asus' Transformer Book V includes a 5-inch Android smartphone, a 12.5-inch touch screen tablet and a keyboard. As you can imagine, Asus is using the Padfone concept here to dock all three devices together to use it as a laptop or exclude the keyboard to use it as a tablet and finally detach the smartphone separately to enjoy all phone functions, CNET reports.
According to Asus, the Transformer Book V in laptop mode makes full use of QWERTY keyboard and touchpad and can be powered in either Windows 8.1 or Android 4.4 KitKat. The tablet features a dedicated button to seamlessly switch between the two operating systems. What's more, the laptop's processor is the latest next-gen Intel Core-series and sports up to 1TB storage for apps, documents, music, movies and a lot more. The 12.5-inch screen, which is the same for the tablet, boasts a HF display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and touch support in both modes.
In tablet mode, the Transformer Book V can switch between the operating systems with a single tap on the screen. With Android 4.4 KitKat and Windows OS on board, users will have complete access to Google Play Store as well as Windows Store. The built-in storage of up to 128 GB gives ample space for storage of apps, games, movies and more. Users can take advantage of the HD camera in both tablet and laptop modes.
Finally, as a smartphone, the Transformer Book V features only Android OS with no Windows Phone option for now. The smartphone is unique as it is the world's first to run on Intel Atom quad-core processor. The smartphone supports striking 4G LTE networks and packs a 2500mAh battery for up to 10 hours of high-speed browsing. The smartphone features an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel shooter in the front.
