Melissa Etheridge is a married woman.
People Magazine reported that the rocker and her partner Linda Wallem tied the knot on Saturday at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California. The "Come to My Window" singer wore a gray suit while Wallem donned a white dress.
"True love...so blessed. 'By the power invested in me by the state of California...' Thanks," Etheridge tweeted Sunday morning.
The ceremony was held outdoors and included several celebrity guests such as Jane Lynch, Rosie O'Donnell, Whitney Cummings, recording artist Sia, Chelsea Handler, and Peter Facinelli. Etheridge reportedly wrote an original song which he sang for Wallem at the ceremony.
"They were so happy," a guest said. "It was really beautiful."
Etheridge's children - Bailey Jean Cypher, 17; Beckett Cypher, 15; and twins Miller Steven Etheridge and Johnnie Rose Etheridge, 7 - also participated in the wedding. A guest told People that the wedding was a "magical moment."
"The ceremony was such a beautiful start to the night," another attendee recalled. "The setting was perfect. It was something Melissa and Linda wanted early on. It was as perfect as they envisioned."
The nuptials came two days after the rock singer and "Nurse Jackie" creator celebrated their 53rd birthdays together on Thursday. The couple has been dating since 2010 and announced their engagement in June 2013 after the Defense of Marriage Act ruling.
"It is about family and I love my four kids," Etheridge said on CNN. "I called my now-fiancée. I'm looking forward to marrying my partner of three years we've been together. I'm going to get married in the state of California. I woke [the kids] up this morning telling them the Supreme Court ruling on DOMA...I love everybody out there. It's a great day."
She added: "Love is love and America is beautiful. It's just an amazing, amazing day. I'm proud to be an American."
