Dell Inc. unveiled its Venue 7 and Venue 8 tablets today at the Computex 2014 event in Taipei, Taiwan.
The Round Rock, Texas-based computer technology company said the 7-inch model has a 1,280 x 800 pixel screen that provides better viewing angles and outdoor visibility, according to The Verge.
The 8-inch model features a 1,920 x 1,200 pixel display.
Both tablets run on Android KitKat, CNET reported. Intel Atom processors are included, with the Z3460 in the Venue 7 and the Z3480 in the Venue 8. The processors are from Intel's Merrifield line, which has been promoted by Dell as the best option for smartphones and tablets.
Sam Burd, Dell's vice president of the personal computing product group, promoted what he calls the "front of screen performance" on both Venue tablets. The 8's screen is an upgrade to last year's 1,280 x 800 display.
"This screen resolution - at this price point - is unprecedented," Burd said.
Dell introduced extra features for the new Venue models. These accessories include a wireless charging cradle for the Venue 8, along with a Bluetooth speaker, Bluetooth keyboard, and a couple of case designs for both models, The Verge reported.
The tablets will be available in either black or red.
Both models will be available on July 1st, with Venue 7 priced at $160 and the Venue 8 priced at $200, CNET reported. The company did not announce details on prices and release dates for the tablets in the U.K. or Australia.
Burd said that Dell will add voice calling capabilities to both models. He added, however, that the feature will only be available for select countries, and did not reveal which countries would be included.
Neil Hand, Dell's vice president for tablets and Chrome, said the first Venue 7 and 8 tablets were released six months ago, PC World reported.
Hand added that Dell will keep upgrading the line of tablets about twice every year.
