Rapper Iggy Azalea went on a rant Monday, slamming online bullies who were questioning her achievements.
MTV reported that hours after playing the parking lot stage at Sunday's Hot 97 Summer Jam, Azalea posted a series of Tweets targeted toward "Internet kids" and other bullies for harassing artists on social media.
"Just remember while your all at home online cracking jokes about artists etc that most of you have done NOTHING. NOTHING! With your lives," Azalea tweeted. "Don't flex someone else's achievements. So many of you Internet kids quote the feats of others as if they were your own."
Azalea continued: "That statement goes out to people who bully others."
One Twitter follower compared Azalea's image Shawn and Marlon Wayans in the movie "White Chicks," while another stated their issue with her "appropriating black culture." Some suggested that Azalea only became popular by copying Nicki Minaj's musical style.
During an interview with Power 105.1's Breakfast Club, Minaj sent her respects to Azalea.
"I think that congratulations is in order. Her single is doing really, really well and I think that's a good thing. One thing I'm not is a hater," the "Pink Friday" rapper said. "If somebody is doing something and they did it well, and their song is charting, well, then congratulations. I just want female rappers to understand that I've kicked in a lot of doors for them and I just would appreciate if they would acknowledge that."
She added: "If somebody has a song that's doing well, then I think that's a great thing. I think that's a great thing for women and we're gonna keep it moving."
Azalea's single "Fancy" has been holding the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, while "Problem" featuring Ariana Grande is at number two.
