The ASUS PadFone X will soon have a new version called PadFone S available for purchase outside the U.S., according to a company announcement.
The PadFone X was first revealed at the end of May as an AT&T phone, which made it exclusive to the U.S., according to Technology Tell.
The announcement follows the PadFone X's presentation at CES 2014.
The PadFone X and PadFone S are almost identical, Engadget reported. They both transform from a 5-inch smartphone to an 8.9-inch tablet with a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and full HD displays.
The two devices also include microSD slot, 13MP plus 2MP cameras on the phone (1MP front camera on the tablet) and 2,300mAh plus 4,990mAh batteries.
The only difference between the PadFone X and the PadFone S that might be noticed is that the PadFone S will not include wireless charging. The feature is not popular among ASUS's target foreign markets, Technology Tell reported.
Changes to the cellular brand have also been made to fit the needs of the spectrums used in other countries.
No information on the price of the device has been revealed yet, Engadget reported. It has only been revealed that it will be released in select markets as early as late in the third quarter of the year.
The PadFone X, which is currently available for pre-order, will be released on June 6th.
ASUS has also released the MeMO Pad 7, which includes a 1200 x 800 IPS display, 5 MP and 2 MP cameras. The cameras will be featured on the front and the back of the device. The tablet will also be available in a variety of colors, GSMArena.com reported.
The MeMO Pad 7 will be available in stores in mid-June.
