A 53-year-old man is in serious condition after a group of men stabbed him several times during a fight on a Manhattan subway station early Wednesday morning, police said.
Three suspects are being searched, with no arrests made, UK MailOnline reported.
Shortly before 6 a.m., the man was stabbed several times above the chest and in the torso during a dispute with three men on the downtown 1 train platform at Seventh Avenue and 18th Street in Chelsea, police said.
The victim, who hasn't been identified, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital by emergency responders. According to New York Daily News, he is expected to survive despite remaining in serious condition.
Police said a group of men were arguing on the platform when the man was stabbed, NBC News reported.
The crime scene was immediately taped off, with police swarming the scene on Wednesday as the morning commute got underway. Guards stood at the subway entrance after the incident occurred.
Subway trains are expected to bypass the stop this morning, according to UK MailOnline.
Authorities had also taped off a section of the block, where the street was strewn with a collection of items, including a pile of clothes, a shopping bag from Mood Fabrics and a bowler hat.
The crime comes just a week after three people were hurt in early-morning stabbings in the city.
A pair of muggers stabbed a 30-year-old man in the head and stomach when he refused to give up his belongings in Prospect Lefferts Gardens in Brooklyn around 2am on Mary 27.
In a separate incident before 4 a.m., two 18-year-olds were stabbed at 116th Street and Lexington Avenue in Manhattan following an argument, UK MailOnline reported.
While no arrests were made, the victims are reported to be recovering.
The earlier stabbings and this latest attack don't appear to be connected, police told Fox News.
