Microsoft Xbox One's PC Compatible Controller Driver Hits Market

Microsoft's Xbox One controller driver allows PC gamers to play on their desktops.

According to GameNGuide, Microsoft released its controller driver for video game enthusiasts Thursday. The company's head of Xbox Live said the update fulfills consumers' requests for a way to use Xbox products on their own computers.

"We know our fans have wanted PC compatibility, and we know they wanted to be able to use the Xbox One controller with the same games and applications they have been playing with using the Xbox 360 controller," Larry Hryb said in a post on the software giant's blog.

Hryb stated the Xbox One's controller and PC setup is very convenient for consumers to use.

"We can't wait for them to play their favorite PC games with what we consider the best controller ever made and we're excited for fans to experience the improved D-pad, redesigned battery compartment, new comfortable design and offset analog sticks," he continued in the post. "The new PC drivers will enable the Xbox One controller to be used with any game that featured gamepad support for the Xbox 360 controller. Simply download the drivers, connect your Xbox One controller to your computer through a micro USB cable and you'll be gaming in no time."

Microsoft implemented Twitch live stream capabilities upon the launch of combat game Titanfall, March 11, 2014.

Xbox has many other attributes. Gamers can watch television by connecting the product to their satellite equipment, according to Polygon. This enables consumers to flip between shows and video game screens.

Consumers in 26 countries can soon take advantage of this feature when the gaming system arrives in September. These include Belgium, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Norway and Russia according to the company's website.

Sweden, Switzerland, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, the Czech Republic, and Greece are also listed.
