A Unites Express flight headed from Nashville, Tenn., turned around after an angry passenger allegedly threatened another female passenger on Sunday, New York Daily News reported.
After K. Colleen Coult, a fellow passenger, reminded 43-year-old LaShonda Williams to shut off her cell phone, she had a strong reaction.
"I kill white people like you," Williams reportedly told the woman, who had requested Williams to turn off her cell phone, according to WSMV-TV.
The disruption on Flight 4205, which was bound for Houston, resulted in the Embraer 135's return to Nashville's airport, where Williams was arrested at the gate for assault, The Smoking Gun reported.
After being asked by Coult to "turn off her cell phone due to the aircraft being in flight," Williams allegedly made the threat, according to a court affidavit.
Williams also told 50-year-old Coult that she would follow her upon reaching Houston "and find out where she lived." The comments "created fear in Coult for her safety," the affidavit noted.
"Fear and anxiety" rippled through the passengers on the plane after the alleged threat, according to a United flight attendant.
Williams said she had lost her phone earlier in the day was trying to locate it before the plane took off, WNCN reported,
"I have an app that says find my phone, and I just kept doing this," said Williams.
That's when the passenger seated next to her got involved.
"She said you need to put your phone away," said Williams. "And I said look lady, you don't know me. I don't know you. Could you please just say nothing to me? I just lost my phone."
A series of insults were exchanged between the two, Williams claimed.
"She said you're such a {expletive}," said Williams. "I said you're a [expletive] too."
KHOU 11 News reached out to Coult, but never received any calls back.
Williams said her smartphone is still missing and so is an explanation.
"I cannot believe for the life of me that she would make up something like that," said Williams.
Williams, of Houston, was charged with assault. She has been released from the Davidson County jail on $3,000 bond.
