Brad Pitt has appeared on countless magazine covers and participated in numerous interviews but none can compare to his most recent interview with Esquire where he opens up about family and drug damage.
The Golden Globe winner and fiancé, Angelina Jolie have quite the large family but it was something he always wanted.
"I always thought that if I wanted to do a family, I wanted to do it big," he said.
The Jolie-Pitt family consists of adopted children Maddox, 11, Pax, 9 and Zahara, 8. The couple also have three biological children, Shiloh, 6 and twins Knox and Vivienne, 4.
Pitt describes how he "wanted there to be chaos in the house...there's constant chatter in our house, whether it's giggling or screaming or crying or banging."
He enjoys every second of it so much that, "I hate it when they're gone."
The "Moneyball" star reveals that he does not have many friends but "a handful of close friends."
"I have my family and I haven't known life to be any happier. I'm making things," Pitt said. "I just haven't known life to be any happier."
Jolie recently had a double mastectomy to reduce her risk of breast cancer. Doctors told the mother of six that she has a mutated form of the BRCA1 breast cancer gene and that she had an 87 percent chance of developing the illness.
"Having witnessed this decision firsthand, I find Angie's choice, as well as so many others like her, absolutely heroic." Pitt said. "I thank our medical team for their care and focus."
Pitt's own mother, Jane Pitt said to be "very proud of Angie" and "means so much to our family especially our grandchildren."
Pitt's newest film "World War Z" hits theaters on June 21.
