Hugh Jackman is ready for his role in Peter Pan.
The Australian actor displayed freshly shaved head and groomed facial hair in preparation for his role in the upcoming Peter Pan movie, "Pan". The 45-year-old will portray Blackbeard in the film
The actor shared a picture of himself on Instagram Tuesday with the caption, "Blackbeard is born #Pan."
In the picture Jackman is shown from the neck up sitting in a chair. A blurry hand was also caught in the snapshot. The picture comes just two days after the "X-Men: Days of Future Past" star hosted the Tony Awards with major facial hair.
In January, the actor signed with Warner Bros. to star in the Peter Pan remake.
"I'm very excited," Jackman said about his role, according to the Huffington Post. "I love it. I love the director Joe Wright, I love working with Warner Bros. and I think this is just really exciting. It's a very cool project. And it's wonderful for my kids!"
In May, Jackman was photographed training for a fight scene with a sword at New York's Hudson River Park, in preparation for his upcoming role.
"We know he will create a Blackbeard who will be a powerful presence in this original Peter Pan adventure," Greg Silverman, Warner Bros. president, said at the time Jackman's casting was announced.
Joe Wright will direct the Peter Pan remake with a script written by Jason Fuchs. "Pan" also stars Amanda Seyfried and Garrett Hedlund, who will star as Captain Hook. "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" star Rooney Mara will play Tiger Lily and Levi Miller is set to play Peter Pan.
The film is said to be a darker take on the original. Pan is scheduled for release July 17, 2015.
