A new pen called Scribble has been developed to draw in any color of the user's choice.
The pen will come in two forms, according to CNET. One version comes with an ink cartridge that can draw on paper with captured colors, and the other is a stylus version that allows users, after installing the Scribble+ app, to splash color on the screen of their mobile devices.
Bluetooth technology and Micro-USB cables will be included in both versions to communicate with the user's computer and other devices.
A 16-RGB sensor is included in Scribble to let users write in any color they choose, The Daily Dot reported.
Users will be able to replicate colors they see on a daily basis. All the user has to do is hold the pen up to any color, such as the shade of green on dollar bills, and the device will scan and store it to create an ink of the same color.
Scribble is 6.3 inches long and can store up to 100,000 different colors, CNET reported. The ink version's built-ink cartridge squirts a mix of colors into a mixing chamber before it transitions on to the page. The pens will also be available in different body colors.
Mark Barker and Robert Hoffman, the inventors of the pen, will soon launch a Kickstarter campaign for funding. Early backers of the device will receive 20 percent off the pen's planned price, which is $149.95 for the ink version and $79.95 for the stylus version.
Those interested in Scribble sign up online to pre-order the pen, The Daily Dot reported.
An interior decorator from Boston known only as "Emily G." mentioned another use for the pen, CNET reported.
"This would be the perfect device to help me easily scan and save color samples for client presentations," Emily G. said. "Being able to quickly match existing colors off walls and swatches with the Scribble Pen is going to be brilliant."
