Georgia police said they have arrested rapper Chief Keef, née Keith Cozart, on grounds of disorderly conduct.
According to CBS news, the "Love Sosa" artist was taken into custody Monday, after police from Dunwoody, Ga. responded to a call from the Le Meridien hotel claiming there was illegal drug activity happening in Cozart's room.
Police spokesperson Timothy Fecht told the news service that they smelled marijuana coming from the room and saw plumes of smoke.
The rapper took to Twitter following his arrest, writing, "Jus Got Out Of Dekalb County jail in Atlant Mad As [expletive]."
But an hour later, Cozart's ill-nature seems to have calmed, when he tweeted that he was spending leisure time in Atlanta, "Coolin In [Da] A."
17-year-old Cozart has been arrested two times before, including one for a gun conviction. He was initially sentenced to 18 months on probation for wielding a firearm at a Chicago police officer. He was not allowed to touch any gun while on probation. He violated that rule when he shot a rifle at a gun range while filming a promotion video for his music last summer, and received a 60-day additional sentence, reported the Chicago Tribune.
The rapper was also sued for child support by his middle-school-aged baby's mother earlier this year. Cozart fathered the child when he was just 15.
Cozart is now being compared to fellow Georgian trap rapper Gucci Mane, with whom Cozart has collaborated on such tracks as "Darker."
Gucci Mane has been arrested a handful of times, including his most recent stint for aggravated assault.
Gucci reportedly attacked a fan at a Harlem Nights club on March 16, hitting him over the head with a champagne bottle.
