And our open approach gives you not just Amazon Instant Video and Prime Instant Video, but also Netflix, Hulu Plus, and more. On Fire TV you can watch Alpha House and House of Cards."

Amazon's vice president for the company's Kindle device said the the e-reader is one of the most complete products the online retailer has ever created.

"The new Fire tablets are the best tablets we've ever built. The reviews from press and the feedback from customers has been overwhelmingly positive," Neil Lindsay said in a company press release when it announced two Cyber Monday deals for the device Dec. 1. The Kindle Fire HDX 7 went for $179. This discount totaled more than 20 percent

The 16 gigabyte high definition kindle fire was $119. This was a 30 percent discount from its normal $169 price point. Consumers can read text electronically on the devices. Audio can now also accompany text.
