Tracy Morgan mother was reportedly barred from seeing her son at the hospital, after he was involved in a deadly car accident over the weekend.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Morgan's mother, Alicia Warden, was turned away from her son's hospital room over the weekend when she tried to visit him following his car accident in New Jersey last Saturday. Warden told TMZ that her son's fiancée, Megan Wollover, blocked her from seeing her son.
Warren was allowed to see her son the following day but complained that the visit was limited to five minutes and she was not allowed to be alone with him. Morgan was reportedly unconscious during the visit.
"All I wanted was for our family to be alone with him," she said told TMZ. "I wanted to pray over him and couldn't do that because so many people were in the room."
The "30 Rock" actor is still recovering from injuries sustained after a Wal-Mart truck slammed into his limo bus, causing it to flip over on a New Jersey highway. The accident left one dead and three others in intensive care.
CNN reported that Morgan and his mother do not have a great relationship. Before the accident, Morgan and his mother had been estranged for more than a decade. Warden told TMZ that no one informed her of her son's car accident or what hospital he was transported to.
In 2012, Morgan's sister told the New York Daily News that her brother does not want to financially assist his mother, who was struggling to keep her northeast Ohio home. Morgan spoke out and said that he had not been in contact with his mom over the past 11 years.
"I am saddened that these untrue stories about me have people questioning my commitment to my family," the comedian said in a statement at the time, according to E! News. "For reasons that are between us, I have not seen my mother in 11 years and, outside of a random call here and there, have had little to no contact with my sister."
Truck driver Kevin J. Roper pleaded not guilty and told a court that he had not slept for 24 hours prior to the accident. He is being charged with vehicular homicide and assault by auto.
