Brazil drew first blood in the World Cup opener with a 3-1 win over Croatia. With many favoring the hosts to claim the top spot in Group A, Mexico and Cameroon will be vying for points on Friday to remain in early contention within the group stage.

"This is a window for all of us, for many of the players it's a huge opportunity to raise their level and for others to see us play," Mexico veteran Rafael Martinez told reporters Thursday, via IBTimes. "You don't get many chances to do that. That's what I always tell the lads. Our group is strong and in our minds we believe we can make it all the way to the final and make history."

The biggest change to Mexico's lineup is forward Javier Hernandez coming off the bench for Friday's match. Mexico boss Miguel Herrera opted to start forward Guillermo Dos Santos over the Manchester United player; he also chose to start Guillermo Ochoa at goal over Jesus Corona.

"I know that all of my players are going to leave their soul on the pitch to achieve a result," Herrera said, via the Telegraph. "We are ready to go out and win."

For Cameroon fans, all eyes will be on skipper Samuel Eto'o, the Cameroon's most talented player.

"I think everybody knows Eto'o and his abilities," Cameroon midfielder Eyong Enoh said, via IB Times. "He is our captain, our leader, he has a lot of experience and we hope he is in his best shape to lead us to victory."
