Pauly D widely known for his spiked blowout on the hit reality show "Jersey Shore" has done the unthinkable.
The star revealed to his Instagram followers that he's finally traded in his blowout for a polished, slick-backed style paired with a black suit and tie.
The reality star credits his new look after the movie "The Great Gatsby" captioning the photo #GreatDJGatsby. Fans seemed to approve the new look, the photo already has over 89 thousand likes.
In an interview with a NewJersey.com, the DJ swore he would never chop his hair off.
"No way! You know God blessed me with this hairline and I don't want to let him down and cut it, so I'm going to keep it," he told the newspaper.
According to the New York Daily News, Pauly D said his hair has always got him a lot of attention but since appearing on the "Jersey Shore" perfect strangers ask him about his locks. It has gotten so crazy that his barber, Anthony Gianfrancesco who Pauly D credits for his infamous blowout, had to create a "Pauly D cut" because so many people would come in and ask for their hair to be styled like the reality star's.
"A lot of people try to do the same hair style, but they can't really do it right," he told the newspaper in a December 2009 interview. "Mine definitely stands out.
He even gave the newspaper a peek into how the star gets his hair blowout ready in the morning. The 25-minute process begins with clean, wet hair that takes the DJ about ten minutes to blow it dry.
As he continues the drying process he meticulously lifts strands of hair with a styling brush. He then adds the key ingredient, Joico's Ice Spiker, a water-resistant "styling glue" and then adds spiking freeze spray. He blasts his locks one more time with the heat to complete the process.
The Daily Mail points out that this isn't the first time the DJ has changed his look. For CG's October 2010 issue, he matted down his hair as he posed with three of co-stars Mike "The Situation," Ronnie and Vinnie.
