Netherlands forward Robin Van Persie scored an incredible goal during Friday's 5-1 rout of Spain in the 2014 World Cup group stage. Watch the video of Van Persie's header below.
Van Persie helped the Netherlands climb out of an early 1-0 deficit against Spain in the most eye-opening fashion: a diving header from 15 yards away. The veteran tied the game in the 44th minute on Friday after running and catching up to a long pass from teammate Daley Blind.
The header seemingly lit a spark for the Netherlands, who then went on to score four unanswered goals on the reigning World Cup champions. Arjen Robben drew first blood after the half, followed by Stefan de Vrij, and one more apiece from Van Persie and Robben.
The blowout win is a huge turnaround from when the two teams met in the 2010 World Cup final in South Africa. Even more, Friday's loss was the largest defeat suffered by Spain since 1950, according to the Associated Press.
