China announced that it will release its top mobile car-sharing service Yongche in the U.S.
Yongche is considered China's answer to the U.S.' rideshare app Uber, according to Complex.
The app will be launched in New York City and San Francisco and will compete with Hailo, Lyft and other apps.
Yongche can be used to call for a private car for personal transportation, according to PC Magazine. The service will also be providing drivers that speak Mandarin in its vehicles for those arriving in the two cities don't speak English
"Most Chinese don't speak English and find it difficult to communicate with foreign drivers after they land in another country," said Herman Zhou, CEO and founder of Yongche. "We will have Chinese-speaking drivers in the U.S. and other places to make it seamless and stress-free."
Zhou said he believes that the service will be able to reach an equal valuation in a few years as Uber, were recently received a valuation of $17 billion. Yongche currently has close to 2 million active users, as well as a fleet of about 50,000 cars, PC Magazine reported. Zhou added that the company is looking to increase its subscribers "tenfold".
Yongche is looking to expand its service to Boston and Los Angeles if its debut in New and San Francisco goes well. London, Singapore, Frankfurt, Taipei and Tokyo are also being looked at by the company for future expansion.
The service is currently available in 57 cities in China and Hong Kong, Complex reported.
Yongche is planning to makes its service available in 150 cities by 2015.
"We want to prove to the world that the competition between Uber and Yongche.com isn't that of between a global and local company, but a match-up of two different business models," Zhou said. "They can come to China, we can also expand and compete with them in the U.S."
