Welsh outdoor pursuit center Zip World introduced Monday the world's biggest underground trampoline in caverns.
The new attraction, called Bounce Below, is made up of three huge trampolines that were installed in a slate cavern by the Blaenau Ffestiniog, North Wales-based company, according to The Daily Mail.
The caverns are the most recent addition to the regeneration project. So far, over 1 million pounds has been invested in the project.
"We got the idea when my business partner saw this done in woods in France but this has never been done in a cavern, this really is a world first in Wales," said Sean Taylor, owner of Zip World. "It's a one hour activity where customers get dressed up in a cotton overall and given a helmet, they then jump on a train and travel inside the mountain. There are three giant trampolines with three meter net walls to stop people climbing out. Each is linked by a slide to go down and a walkway to go up - the biggest slide is 60 feet."
Taylor said Bounce Below is "unique" and that it also features a slide show, CNET reported.
"Nowhere else in the world can you do this kind of thing," he said.
The creation of Bounce Below involved workers digging out the cave by hand for five months.
The workers used portable lamps for the digging, and carried out close to 500 tons of rubble from the cavern, The Daily Mail reported.
Customers will be able to reach the trampolines by train. Each train is linked by a slide that is 60 feet long.
"The first trampoline is 20 feet off the ground, the second is 60 feet and the third is 180 feet high," said business development manager Laura Jones. "They are connected by shoots and you get in via a walk way in to the middle trampoline.
"Each trampoline is about 60 feet wide. They've been tested to hold a huge weight."
Bounce Below will be open to the public on July 3rd.
