Belgium's biggest concern heading into Tuesday's match is the health of their strikers. Divock Origi suffered an ankle injury on Saturday and underwent scans at a hospital. While Belgium boss Marc Wilmots tweeted Origi is fit to play, it's uncertain if any lingering soreness in the 19-year-old's ankle will hamper him on the pitch.
The team has already ruled out Christian Benteke with a ruptured Achilles tendon, and Romelu Lukaku, who suffered an ankle injury in June 7's friendly against Tunisia, has been only training with the team again since Wednesday.
If Origi is for some reason unable to play on Monday, Lukaka would be Belgium's only recognized central striker, according to FIFA.com.
Algeria, meanwhile, is playing in their first World Cup since 1986. Although the Algerian squad lacks both tournament experience and big-name players, assistant coach Nourredine Kourichi believes both teams will have an equal chance to win once they hit the pitch.
"You can't replace experience, but when you have the will, the recklessness and the talent, anything is possible," he told FIFA.com. "On Tuesday both teams have a chance, it's not a small team against a big team."
