President Barack Obama's first daughter Malia is officially a working woman.
TheWrap reported that Malia spent a day working as a production assistant on the Los Angeles set of Halle Berry's new TV series "Extant". An insider said that the 15-year-old "helped with computer shop alignments" and "the director also let her slate a take."
The First Family's eldest daughter "laughed with delight," saying, "My first time. This is a big deal."
At the show's premiere party at the Los Angeles Science Center "Extant" co-star Camryn Manheim confirmed the story with "Entertainment Tonight's" Brooke Anderson and had nothing but nice things to say about the high school junior.
"I can tell you that she is graceful, and lovely, and just charming and delightful," Manheim said. "I don't know how her parents raised her to be like that, especially in the White House. I am having my own trouble with my thirteen-year-old, so she's pretty remarkable. I mean, they are a remarkable family."
Manheim added: "When you get hoisted into the spotlight like that, and you grow up under the scrutiny of everybody, and to come out being so charming and in charge of herself, with so much poise, it's beautiful. Any parent would look at her and be proud."
In 2012, Michelle Obama told People Magazine that her daughter "expressed some interest in filmmaking. Just like her father, she is an avid reader, and she enjoys movies. But she's a freshman, so she also knows she has years in college to explore her interest."
The 13-episode sci-fi thriller stars Berry as a astronaut who returns home after a year in space, inexplicably pregnant. The show is produced by Steven Spielberg and also stars Goran Visnjic.
"Extant" premieres July 9 at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
