Brazil opened the World Cup with a 3-1 win over Croatia, thanks in part to a questionable penalty and to two goals from Neymar.
"It's important to start these tournaments on the right foot, with a victory," Neymar said, via Times.com. "I'm happy that I got to score, but the entire team deserves credit. We maintained our calm and showed we could battle back."
Despite suffering what appeared to be a strained hamstring in practice over the weekend, Brazil forward Hulk is expected to be fit for Tuesday's match.
"I felt a pain in my left hamstring. It has been there for a few days but it did not stop me from playing in the first game [against Croatia] and God willing it will not stop me from playing in the next match," Hulk said, via FIFA.com. "I hope to be 100 per cent ready in two days' time."
Mexico, meanwhile, also is coming off an opening-match victory. El Tri handed Cameroon a 1-0 loss thanks to a goal from forward Oribe Peralta in the 61st minute. The win not only earned Mexico three points, but also bolstered their confidence heading into Tuesday's match against Brazil.
"Thanks to the first win, we are very calm about the Brazil match, about taking another step forwards to achieving our goal. But the Brazil team is tough, very tough," Peralta told FIFA.com. "We're going to make life difficult for them, because this game will be crucial. Still, it's a team that, if we play well, we can beat."
