Parallels Inc. made Parallels Access, its remote access app, available for the iPhone and Android tablets and smartphones with Parallels Access 2.0.
Parallels Access lets people use their mobile devices to remotely access Macs and PCs, according to PC Magazine.
The app was previously only available on the iPad.
"While traditional remote desktop products are trying to show a large desktop on a small mobile device, we worked hard to make remote access from mobile devices a truly simple and effective experience," said Jack Zubarev, president of Parallels.
One of the new features included in the new app is called Parallels Access for Business, and allows admins manage accounts for their users, PCWorld reported. Company executives said the "magnifying glass" and "smart tap" features will remain in the new version of Parallels Access. Both features help users tap what they want to on their devices' screens.
"What this does is provide the most reliable way to remotely access all Windows and Mac applications from your phone or tablet," Zubarev said.
With Parallels Access 2.0, customers can use a single click to set icons on their desktops to launch the Windows version of the app, PCWorld reported.
Nick Dobrovolski, creator of Parallels Access, said users can mute the remote computer to keep from disturbing coworkers. He also said users can blank the remote PC's screen for the device's security.
The update also includes the option to log in to the app with Facebook, PC Magazine reported. Better microphone integration and a new iOS file browser are also featured.
"Parallels Access enables people to interact with full-features Mac and PC apps with touch gestures just like the apps were made for their iPhone, iPad, or Android device," Zubarev stated.
Customers can download the new Parallels Access for Android and iOS for free. The apps also come with a free two-week service trial. One-year subscriptions are available for $19.99, and two-year subscriptions are available $34.99.
