"Dancing with the Stars" pro Mark Ballas was hospitalized after a car accident in Los Angeles.
TMZ reported that the 28-year-old was turning right when a speeding car collided with the rear passenger's side of his vehicle on Monday afternoon. The five men in the other vehicle claimed that the accident was Ballas' fault, but an eyewitness defended the professional dancer, saying the other driver was speeding.
After the accident, Ballas reportedly complained of back pain and whiplash, and was taken to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center by his girlfriend. The singer-songwriter was given a physical examination and prescribed pain medication. Doctors said the pain from his injuries will become worse in the following days.
Ballas was scheduled to perform this week with his band mate "DWTS" pro Derek Hough. No word on whether he'll be able to com in his condition.
The damage to Ballas' vehicle was reportedly so severe, the car had to be towed away for repairs.
The accident comes less than a month after Ballas fell to the floor with an injured arm while rehearsing for the "Dancing with the Stars" finale with partner Candace Cameron Bure. According to an ABC spokesperson, while trying to perform a trick for his routine Ballas' shoulder popped and he had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance.
He pushed through the pain and continued competing. Bure and Ballas finished in third place for season 18 of the dancing competition, losing to first-time winner Maks Chmerkovskiy and his Olympian partner Meryl Davis.
In the 2007 finale of "DWTS" Ballas dislocated his left shoulder while performing with his then-partner, actress Sabrina Bryan.
